It was these biblical words that inspired Ron Brown to create the Urban Dreams Foundation. In addition to being an accomplished saxophonist and producer, Brown is also an educator and a mentor to youth. He clearly remembers the tough times associated with starting out in life, or launching a new endeavor. "Though struggle can make you appreciate success," Brown says, "working smarter will get you there sooner." He believes character, integrity and faith are the missing elements in the lives of most of today's youth, and seeks to instill these values through the foundation.

The Urban Dreams Foundation is a non-profit arts based educational foundation. The mission of the Urban Dreams Foundation is to inspire and motivate young urban people to reach their potential, by teaching success principles through the arts. According to Brown, "the goal is to help young people work smarter to make their upward climb a little smoother." At the Urban Dreams Foundation, we believe that every young person has the potential for success. We also know that few of us make it to the top alone. To accomplish our mission, we educate young artists through workshops and seminars, one-on-one mentoring and performance showcases. Through various projects, participants will explore, challenge and adjust their beliefs, core values and work ethic to achieve their highest level of personal and professional success.

The Urban Dreams Foundation is an idea and an organization. It is an idea that depends on the belief that as human beings, we can simultaneously pursue our individual dreams while helping to nurture the dreams of others. it is an organization dedicated to making this idea real.
