The Urban Jazz Network is a concept featuring all the elements of Urban music: R&B, Be Bop, Smooth Jazz, Hip Hop and Gospel. This music is deep rooted in American Culture, and our mission is to create a new vibrant sound, keeping the integrity of Traditional Jazz, Smooth Jazz, and Gospel while blending in the "funk grooves" that resonates throughout the rich heritage of Urban Music.

Urban Jazz Network was formed by MK Records' Musical Director, Ron Brown. The goal of Urban Jazz Network is to introduce Jazz to a wider audience. Urban Jazz Network is a network of great musicians and artists brought together by Ron Brown to create a new music.
Each Urban Jazz Network CD will feature a famous traditional Jazz artist (Kenny Garrett) and a famous contemporary Jazz artist (Kirk Whalum). Also, the CD will introduce upcoming great musicians (Alex Al, Smitty Smith), Urban grooves ("Roppongi Crossing"), Smooth Jazz ("You & Me"), Gospel ("I Surrender All"), Rap ("All about Jazz"). Urban Jazz Network's mission is to create a new music by bringing together all the elements of Urban, R&B, Be Bop, Smooth Jazz, and Gospel. This new music will be guided by artist/producer Ron Brown, using his network of great musician friends and artists.
